Ms A approached Farleys’ personal injury team about the possibility of making a claim for compensation after she was injured in a supermarket car park.

Background

Ms A was visiting a supermarket in Preston on the day of the accident. She had parked up in a bay and was making her way to the store when a delivery van, which was reversing into a bay, collided with her. It was evident that the driver of the van had not seen her and she was forced to bang on the back of the van to get their attention.

Ms A suffered injury to her shoulder which required physiotherapy.

How Farleys Were Able to Help

Ms A instructed Farleys’ personal injury specialist Jade Jump to act on her behalf in a claim against the van driver’s employer.

Jade instructed medical experts to assess the extent of the damage to Ms A’s shoulder. The medical evidence confirmed that she had injured her shoulder, that it required physiotherapy, and that she should be fully recovered by 8 months post-accident.

Throughout the claim, the defendant argued liability for the accident and were adamant that Ms A was partially to blame for walking behind the van.

Through extensive negotiations, we were able to settle the claim for just over £2,500 without any compromise on liability. The compensation would cover the cost of her physiotherapy, the care she required post-accident, and the pain she suffered. Ms A was satisfied with the outcome.

Jade commented,

This was a completely avoidable accident which caused injury and stress for Ms A. We were pleased to have been able to recover the costs to allow her to move forward and access the treatment she needs. We wish her all the best.
