Our firm has been ever expanding since its beginnings  in in 1958 and now spans across six offices in Greater Manchester and Lancashire (Blackburn, Preston, Manchester, Shadsworth, Burnley, and Accrington), employing more than 140 members of staff.

The successful candidates will have a proven track record in corporate / commercial law (>3 years PQE) and will be able to demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent client care and interpersonal skills.

You will have experience of private company and asset sales and acquisitions, joint venture / shareholder agreements, commercial contracts and private company reorganisations, and the ability to manage a complex caseload from inception to completion.

Working closely with colleagues across our regional commercial team, you will act for a wide range of business clients across the North West, and nationally, and will also be encouraged to take an active involvement in business development activities, building client relationships and helping to grow our already well-established firm.

Insolvency / Litigation Solicitor (Preston)

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in insolvency and litigation (>4 years PQE) with the following essential experience:

  • Corporate and personal insolvency with more experience of contentious insolvency rather than non-contentious insolvency preferred
  • Debt recovery
  • Director / shareholder disputes
  • Commercial litigation disputes

Other advantageous experience would include:

  • Director disqualification cases
  • Finance litigation
  • Property litigation
  • Landlord and tenant matters
  • Contentious probate

Solicitor (Newly Qualified) – Abuse Law

Role:  Solicitor – Abuse Law
Location: Manchester city centre
Salary: Commensurate with experience

We have an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor to join our abuse claims team, based out of our Manchester city centre offices.

Previous experience of abuse claims is not essential though some background in litigation would be helpful. The successful candidate will have an interest in social services cases / abuse claims/ inquests and be keen to learn.

You will initially work alongside a Partner to learn and progress before taking on your own varied caseload of abuse claims.

Overall, we are looking for people who demonstrate excellent client care and interpersonal skills and who will work as part of our wider team to deliver exceptional client experience.

Paralegal – Abuse & Inquests

Role: Paralegal – Abuse & Inquests
Location: Manchester city centre
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Farleys are currently looking to recruit a paralegal or legal assistant to join our abuse and inquests team, working as an assistant to the partner and head of department.

The role would suit someone who is looking to start out their career in law as an aspiring trainee solicitor or paralegal, getting real, on the job experience in our busy team.  This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in high-value claims and high profile matters, such as the football abuse and grooming scandals.

The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Liaison with clients, external counsel and medical experts

Legal Secretary

Legal Secretary
Location: Blackburn (Shadsworth Business Park)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are looking to recruit a legal secretary to assist our firm’s busy property department, based in our commercial offices in Blackburn on Shadsworth Business Park

The successful candidate will provide full support to commercial property fee earners as required including preparing correspondence and documents, general file management administration, Companies House forms and applications, Land Registry searches, submitting applications online, preparing SDLT forms and other property related tasks.

We’re therefore looking for someone motivated and used to working in a busy, fast paced environment, proactive and personable and someone who will work as part of a wider team to deliver exceptional client service.

The role is a full-time position (Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm).
