“My training contract interview at Farleys stood out for me as it was incredibly warm and inviting. This welcoming atmosphere has continued throughout my time here at Farleys.  Everyone I have come across in the different offices and teams I have joined have always been easy to talk to, willing to help and provide support. As well as providing a friendly atmosphere, Farleys has given me the opportunity to develop my skills through its varied and challenging work.”

“Aside from professional development, Farleys has given me the chance to develop as a person.  I’m actively encouraged to attend external networking events and social events within the firm; in doing so, I’ve made some great friends and useful connections going forward.

I’ve become a much more confident person both professionally and personally.  I’d encourage anyone to consider applying as I feel as though it’s a great place to work and develop.”

What We Can Offer You

Our training contract programme offers 4 seats across a wide selection of our practice areas, including civil litigation, personal injury, family, property, corporate and commercial, and dispute resolution, amongst others. The seats are offered across our North West offices in Blackburn, Preston, Accrington, Burnley, Manchester and Shadsworth.

There are fantastic long term prospects we can offer you a supportive environment to flourish in. This role is a great opportunity to play a key part in continued success of our team and is probably the best demonstrated by our staff retention – the average length of service is an impressive 10 years, 11 months.

Numerous support staff have progressed through the ranks here, training part-time whilst working at a firm, to then become solicitors. More than 50% of our current solicitors completed their training with Farleys rising to more than 70% of the firms Partners. Our awards winning training programme also continues to be part of our long-term strategy for growing talent and fostering ‘Farleys people’ from within

In addition to well rounded training offering a good range of work, Farleys also offers a brilliant work/life balance with an excellent team atmosphere; we encourage our trainees to get involved in CSR activities including fundraising and team building exercises.

My training contract at Farleys was both challenging and rewarding in equal measures.  It was a great opportunity to work alongside different solicitors from other offices and departments across the firm. I quickly came to realise that my colleagues had a wealth of knowledge and experience in their respective areas of work and were great to learn from.  I learned so many essential lessons from my colleagues during my training contract which have helped me become the solicitor I am today and I am proud to be able to continue my legal career here at Farleys – Jade Jump

“Having lived and worked in Lancashire for most of my adult life, choosing which firm to do my training contract with was very important to me.

I wanted to train with a local firm and Farleys had a fantastic reputation for its training contracts, not to mention its down-to-earth working environment which made me feel completely at ease on my first day. I had the opportunity to work closely with the partners who provided constant support and assistance, and from the start I felt like I was a recognised and valuable member of the team.

My training contract was insightful and challenging but I never felt as though I was struggling on my own, and help was always on hand if I ever needed it. I thoroughly enjoyed training, and since qualifying I am very much looking forward to progressing my career with Farleys further.” – Jodi Oosthuizen
