Farleys’ personal injury team was approached by Miss H about the possibility of making a claim for compensation after a road traffic accident left her with life changing injuries.
Miss H was travelling as a passenger in her boyfriend’s car along Barbara Castle Way in Blackburn. The car overturned and Miss H’s boyfriend fled the scene. Miss H broke her neck in the crash and suffered a subsequent stroke at the hospital.
She was taken for surgery four days after the accident and was required to wear a halo brace for two months afterwards. She also suffered scarring to her face. The fracture in her neck was deemed to be possibly unstable and required examination by a private spinal surgeon and other specialists.
How Farleys Were Able to Help
Miss H instructed Nick Molyneux, a partner in Farleys’ personal injury team, to act on her behalf in a claim against her boyfriend’s insurers. Nick instructed medical experts to assess the extent of Miss H’s injuries and the impact these injuries will have on her life going forward.
We issued proceedings in the High Court and successfully claimed £120,000 for Miss H to cover her pain, suffering and loss of amenity, medical and travel expenses, and loss of earnings as she was unable to work for three years after the accident.
Miss H has suffered life changing injuries as a result of someone else’s negligent driving so we were delighted to have recovered this compensation to cover the costs she has incurred and to fund any future treatment she may need. We wish her all the best in her recovery.
