At the start of ‘lockdown’ and at the beginning of our journey into unprecedented times, we assured our current and future clients that, at Farleys, we would still be able to provide the same legal expertise and down to earth advice as always.

Now that we are almost four months on from those first days of lockdown, I can share how we have continued to meet client needs and expectations during this challenging period. I am a Solicitor in the Litigation Department, specialising in personal injury claims and I am pleased to say that we have been able to keep the claims moving and accept new claims as usual into our department. In practice, this is how we have worked:

New Personal Injury Claims

We continue to accept new enquiries via telephone and through our website. Although we have kept face-to-face meetings to a bare minimum, we have utilised video-calls where possible to maintain client contact. We are known for holding our free ‘Saturday Surgeries’ and in an effort to support our community through this difficult time, we took our clinic ‘virtual’ and continue to take appointments to discuss any legal queries that either individuals or businesses may have.

Progression of Existing Claims

We are able to work remotely as normal and we are progressing claims as we ordinarily would. Where appropriate, some medical experts have carried out appointments via video call whereby the expert is still able to check our client’s identification, take full and detailed medical and accident history, and provide a CPR compliant medical report.

Most private hospitals stopped private work whilst they helped support the NHS, but we are now seeing many starting to accept clients for appointments and treatment. Likewise, our clients are starting to attend recommended physiotherapy sessions and the majority of appointments going forward are taking place face to face.

The Courts have made good use of telephone and virtual hearings where possible and on the whole, cases have still been able to progress through the early stages of litigation without delay.

The Future

We have all been thrown into a state of affairs where we have had to learn quickly, think on our feet and adapt to an ever-changing situation. Originally established in 1958, Farleys continues to command a large legal presence in the North-West and beyond. Our core values set us apart from others:

C – Clear

A – Attentive

R – Results driven

E – Enthusiasm

We continue to assist the local and wider community with any legal concerns they may have. If you need to contact us to discuss a legal problem, please do not hesitate to call us on 0845 287 0939 or complete our online contact form.
