Farleys’ annual Christmas shopping fundraiser was held at St Pius X Preparatory School in Preston on Thursday 13th November.
Over 80 guests attended and enjoyed browsing and shopping at the local artisan stalls for gifts and treats followed by a hot supper and raffle.
The event wasn’t just an opportunity for guests to get a headstart on their Christmas shopping though as the main aim of the event was to raise vital funds for CancerHelp Preston.
CancerHelp has been supporting people affected by cancer and bereavement since 1989. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for cancer patients, their families, and carers in Central Lancashire and surrounding areas. The charity funds counselling, complimentary therapies, support groups, and activity sessions for their service users.
Funds were raised on the night through ticket sales, raffle tickets, and a percentage of stallholder profits totaling a fantastic £2,100 of which the Farleys Foundation has agreed to match-fund, making a final total of £4,200 going to Cancer Help.
Sophie Henrys, Marketing Manager at Farleys, commented,
“Our Christmas shopping event has been running since 2017 and has become a real staple in people’s festive calendars. We’re delighted to have raised so much again for this great cause.
“We’re in no doubt that this couldn’t have been done without the fantastic support from our kind stallholders and generous shoppers, so a huge thank you to everyone involved, including the team at St Pius X!”
Laura Brown, Communications Lead at CancerHelp added,
CancerHelp is incredibly grateful to the team at Farleys, to all the stall holders, and to everyone who supported this fabulous event. The funds raised will be used to provide essential therapy sessions for local people who are struggling after a cancer diagnosis. Thanks to the Farleys Foundation for generously providing match funding, we will now be able to offer double the number of sessions.
This annual event is enjoyed by so many, and the fact that it also helps raise vital funds for our cause makes it even more special.
Stallholders on the night included Sunday Best, Raffia, Hayley Elizabeth Art, DP Silver, Willow Tree Acre, It’s a Piece of Cake, Bowland Chocolate, Pottery by Lynn, and Tropics. Refreshments were provided by BKN Bars.
