For more than a decade, every May, a team of colleagues from Farleys have laced up their running shoes and taken to the streets to participate in the Great Manchester Run.
As well as being a fantastic chance to socialise with colleagues and enjoy the exercise, the team has always chosen a charity close to their hearts to raise money for alongside the run and this year is no different.
Fourteen runners from across the firm will be taking part in the Great Manchester Run across the 10k and the half marathon runs on Sunday 31st May in aid of Derian House Children’s Hospice.
The charity supports hundreds of local children and young people living with serious health conditions, while also offering practical and emotional help to the people who care for them. Their work includes short breaks, palliative care, and wider family support, all provided without charge to the families who rely on the service.
Runners from Farleys taking part are Alice Wood (10K), Amy Jones (half marathon), Anna Billingsley (half marathon), Cliona Carey (10K), David Corrigan (10K), Eve Abdel-Moneim (half marathon), Finn Hubble (10K), Freya Aughton (10K), Hannah Mayle (10K), Katie Sharples (10K), Katy Dunn (10K), Kelly Darlington (half marathon), Megan Billington (10K), and Paige Taylor (10K).
Over the years, Team Farleys has run in aid of causes including The Christie, Wood Street Mission, Sands, Motor Neurone Disease Association, Rosemere Cancer Foundation, the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund and more, raising tens of thousands of pounds.
Megan Billington commented,
We’re really looking forward to taking part in this year’s Great Manchester Run, representing Farleys and raising funds for a cause close to our hearts. The event atmosphere is always fantastic and we can’t wait to soak it all in and enjoy a well-earned celebratory drink together at the end!
We know that times are challenging but if you can spare a donation to our fundraiser for Derian House, no matter how small, we’d be hugely grateful. If you’ll be attending the event as a runner or a spectator, look out for the team in their Farleys purple tops.
