After qualifying as a solicitor in March 2012, Kelly now practices as a solicitor in Inquests and Actions against Detaining Authorities.
Kelly has a national client base and specialises in representing bereaved families, with a particular emphasis on deaths in prison, police custody, hospitals and local authority care. She is also regularly instructed to act on behalf of care homes and other interested persons in Inquest proceedings and has experience in representing bereaved families of military personnel.
Kelly also deals with civil claims, in particular, human rights claims, against detaining authorities as a result of the death of a loved one.
Kelly is experienced in representing clients in police complaints, actions against the police and prison service. Her case load also comprises of civil claims against local authorities where children have been abused or neglected in care. She is experienced in representing victims of historic abuse in claims against local authorities, perpetrators of abuse, and making claims to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.
Kelly is a member of the Inquest Lawyers Group, Police Action Lawyers Group, the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
