The last couple of weeks have seen two large personal injury firms in the North West cease trading. That will leave many hundreds if not thousands of people worried about what happens next with their personal injury claims. Both Hampson Hughes and Pure Legal have announced that they have been forced to close with the loss of hundreds of jobs, and many Claimants’ cases being put at risk.

What happens to those firms?

Unfortunately, it will mean that hundreds of people are now unemployed and worried about their future just before Christmas. It also means that anyone whose claim was being conducted by Hampson Hughes Solicitors or Pure Legal needs to find a new solicitor in order to continue to pursue their claim.

What should I do now?

If you have a personal injury claim in progress with a law firm which then ceases trading, it is important to act quickly and not wait to hear from the administrators of the business or the Solicitors Regulation Authority. It might be that there are important deadlines which need to be acted upon, so you will need to instruct a new solicitor to take over the case urgently so these deadlines are not missed.

Our personal injury team at Farleys has experience of taking over claims in these circumstances. The sooner you take steps to contact the team here at Farleys, the sooner we can get your file of papers, protect your position and pursue your case.

If you have already been told your case is being transferred to another firm by the administrators of your solicitors, you can still choose to transfer to a solicitor of your choice.

Will it cost me anything?

It will not cost anything for our team to get your case papers and look at them. We will then give you quick, clear, and impartial advice as to what should happen next with your case. You can be reassured that your case will have the attention of a qualified solicitor who you will be able to speak to throughout your case and who you can see in person or by video.

At Farleys, we have over 60 years’ experience in the legal profession and our solicitors secure millions of pounds in damages for our clients every year. We have experience in dealing with all kinds of personal injury and clinical negligence cases from simple road traffic accidents through to complex claims worth many millions of pounds.

Will Farleys act on a no win no fee basis?

If we think your case has merits, we will act on a no win no fee basis. Costs and funding for cases will always be discussed with you before proceeding.

What do I do now?

As mentioned above, it is important to act quickly in these circumstances so, should you wish for Farleys to take over your personal injury claim, you should contact the team at the earliest opportunity. We can be contacted by phone on 0845 287 0939, by email, or through the online chat below.
