Farleys Solicitors has successfully advised Peter Jackson the Jeweller on its sale to independent, family-owned WATCHO Jewellers.
Established more than 40 years ago, Peter Jackson the Jeweller has developed into one of the North West’s most highly regarded watch and jewellery retailers with stores in Preston and Blackburn. Following founder Peter Jackson’s decision to retire earlier this year, the business was sold, with the help of Farleys, to WATCHO Jewellers, an established independent retailer with stores in London and Milton Keynes. Under the new ownership, the Preston and Blackburn stores will continue to trade as usual, with the existing team remaining in place.
Farleys provided comprehensive legal support throughout the transaction, advising on all aspects of the deal. Amy Jones led the corporate work, assisted by Debbie King, while Stephen Greenwood advised on the commercial property elements. Victoria Mitchell and Bob Worsley advised on employment matters, demonstrating the value of a collaborative approach in ensuring the smooth progression of the transaction.
Commenting on the support provided by Farleys, Peter Jackson said:
This is the first major project that Farleys have supported me with. I totally underestimated the legal complexity of the transaction and the Farleys team advised and guided me through the process with professionalism, patience and efficiency that brought the project to a successful conclusion I would have no hesitation recommending Farleys.
Debbie King, Corporate Partner at Farleys, commented:
“We were very pleased to advise Peter on the sale of his business and to support the successful completion of the transaction. We wish Peter all the best in his retirement.
“This matter demonstrates the importance of close collaboration across specialist legal teams to provide clients with a complete and efficient legal solution for their business sale.”
