In December 2017, a former teacher from The Wavell Comprehensive School in Farnborough was found guilty following trial of 14 separate historical charges of indecent assault against five young girls.

Richard John Hilary was also employed as a coach at Winchester Athletics Club and is now serving a 15 year custodial sentence for offences that he perpetrated almost 40 years ago against children that he had been entrusted to assume the welfare of.

His victims, all of whom were under 16 at the time, showed great courage in disclosing their horrendous experiences in securing the conviction.

It is hoped that they, along with other victims of historical child and indeed more recent child sexual abuse, will be able to take a level of reassurance in that they will be believed upon speaking out and that their reports will be investigated.

I have recently taken instructions and currently act on behalf of victims of Richard Hilary and am expectant that there may be more of his victims to come forward to seek compensation for the same or similar incidents of abuse carried out by him.

Our nationally recognised and specialist Abuse Department here at Farleys are on hand to take your enquiry in order provide initial advice in relation to the options open to you as a victim of recent or non recent child sexual offences.
