Farleys’ Family Law department will be launching a new service, specifically targeted at parents who enter into court cases without legal representation.

The fixed fee service will allow litigants to meet with an experienced solicitor who will guide them through the complex litigation surrounding C100 forms. The launch of the service is in response to the increasing number of clients who have contacted us since restrictions were enforced on Legal Aid in April 2013. Since then, we have witnessed a rise in the number of individuals forced to represent themselves in an attempt to minimise legal expenses.

Included in the fixed fee service of £200 will be a meeting with an experienced solicitor who will be able to guide you through the entire process from consulting you on the completion of the form to reviewing its contents. A follow up letter including a step by step breakdown of the guidance offered to you in relation on how to make your application to the Court, including an explanation of the roles of organisations and individuals involved in the process.

This latest service is another of the Family Law department’s effort to make obtaining quality legal advice practical and affordable for the vast majority of clients. Alongside offering a fixed fee service for C100 applications, the department also runs a free family law clinic at our Blackburn, Burnley and Accrington offices. The clinic runs every Thursday from 4.30 to 6.30pm on a drop in basis where a specialist family law solicitor will be able to advice you on any family issue you may have.
