A serial child abuser, named as Britain’s worst paedophile, has been sentenced to life in jail to serve a minimum of 16 years after admitting 45 offences over the past 25 years. Mark Frost pleaded guilty to rape and sexual assault of boys in the UK and Thailand dating back as far as 1989. The victims ranged in age from 10 to 15 years old.

Frost, known as Andrew Tracey before 2014, worked as a school teacher and senior scout leader from the 1970s to the 1990s when he was first arrested on child abuse charges relating to the children in his care. More than a decade later, Frost went to Thailand where he groomed Thai boys from poor communities with cash, sweets and computer games before raping and sexually abusing them.

The case has been described as one of the worst to be brought to the British courts.

During his sentencing on the 8th of February 2017, the judge stated that Frost, now 70 years old, was responsible for “the most appalling catalogue of sexual abuse” and it was clear he had an “ongoing obsession” with young boys.

He also told Frost: “Your conduct towards each and every one of these victims is horrific and deeply disturbing.”

It is believed that there may still be more of Frost’s victims who have yet to come forward. The National Crime Agency and NSPCC hope that the verdict of life in prison for Mark Frost will give any other victims the courage to speak out.

The NCA and NSPCC have set up a helpline for anyone who thinks they may be a victim of Frost to call for support or to report abuse. If you have been victim of Mark Frost, call 0800 328 0904.
