Farleys is supporting this year’s Blackburn with Darwen Community Volunteer Awards.

The annual awards recognise and celebrate local people and groups who make a difference through volunteering their time in various capacities across the community. This year, an impressive 329 nominations were received which will be whittled down to the winners across several categories on the night.

The awards ceremony is set to be held on Thursday 3rd November at St George’s Hall and, as silver sponsors, some of our team will be in attendance to celebrate the nominees and present the Young People’s Award.

Other categories to be awarded on the night include Volunteer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Grassroots Award, Good Neighbour Award, Environment Award, and more.

Jane Chadwick, Associate Partner at Farleys commented,

“We’re excited to be supporting the Community Volunteer Awards again this year. As a business with its roots firmly in the Blackburn community, we may be a little biased, but we think the work done by so many volunteers across the region is truly inspiring. We want to congratulate every single person who was nominated for an award and wish all of those shortlisted the best of luck.”

Garth Hodgkinson, Chief Executive of organisers Community CVS added,

“The Community Volunteer Awards event at King George’s Hall is the highlight of the year for local charities and community groups within Blackburn with Darwen.  It is the opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the vital of work that thousands of volunteers and hundreds of local charities and community groups do to help our local communities.  On behalf of Community CVS, who organise the event and the hundreds of people and organisations involved in the event, we would like to say a big thank you to Farleys Solicitors and the other sponsors for sponsoring the event.  Without the support of our local business community we would not be able to put on the event.”
