Sian Hall, Solicitor in Farleys’ fraud and business crime unit, has been appointed to the committee of the Young Fraud Lawyers Northern Association (YFLNA).
Run by a committee of fraud lawyers from numerous North West law firms, Sian is the first solicitor from Farleys to join the association’s management committee.
The YFLNA was established in 2006 as a not for profit association, with the aim of assisting young fraud lawyers and solicitors with professional development and networking opportunities, with numerous seminars provided by fraud and business crime specialists throughout the year.
Currently with 80 members from firms throughout Greater Manchester and Lancashire, the association plans to hold more events in Leeds and Sheffield over the coming twelve months.
Commenting on the news, Miss Hall said:
“I am delighted to have been appointed as a committee member of the YFLNA. Having been a member of the association for the past year and having gained an awful lot out of my membership, it will be fantastic to be more involved with its running and organisation.
“There are some exciting plans in place for the coming twelve months that I look forward to both myself and Farleys being part of. The fraud and business crime unit at Farleys is one of the largest and most successful in the North, and I am pleased that we can take a part in assisting young solicitors and trainees specialising in this fascinating and often complex area of law to develop their knowledge and make new contacts.”
The fraud and business crime department at Farleys operates in both Lancashire and Manchester, offering legal advice for company directors and business owners on a wide range of matters including MTIC / carousel fraud, VAT Tribunals, accusations of fraud, money laundering, corporate manslaughter and professional disciplinary proceedings.
