Farleys Wills Week East Lancashire HospiceFor the sixth year in a row, Farleys Solicitors’ Wills department took part in a charitable scheme in which they drew up Wills for clients in exchange for a donation to East Lancashire Hospice.

For more than 30 years, East Lancashire Hospice has been providing exceptional services and care for local residents with life limiting illnesses. Each year they rely on the  fundraising efforts of the local communities of East Lancashire to raise the funds to continue to care for these people.

Phil Taylor, Partner and head of the Will, Trusts and Probate department, commented:

“East Lancashire Hospice is an incredible place, doing amazing work for patients and their families and we are delighted to participate in their Will Week.

It’s a great opportunity for our team to come together in support of a great cause and use our skills to raise much needed funds.”

Overall, through Wills Week we raised a grand total of £1265.

Denise Gee, fundraiser, who collected the cheque on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice said:

“We would like to say thank you to Farleys Solicitors for their continued support, and express our sincere thanks to everyone who has donated towards the hospice.

Not only does making a will help to provide peace of mind for you and your family, your donation is also helping to care for patients with life-limiting illnesses in Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn, and the Ribble Valley.”

Both Farleys Solicitors and East Lancashire hospice would like to thank those who donated so kindly during Wills Week. Throughout the week we received many generous donations to the charity and lots of people having Wills written when they hadn’t previously got one.

Past statistics have shown that 61% of UK people die without a valid Will and of those, two thirds have children under the age of 18. It is vital that anyone, particularly those with dependant loved ones, make sure provisions are made for your loved ones in the event of your death and, although we don’t like to think about it, that could happen at any moment.
