IN the first of a series of pricing changes, North West law firm Farleys is now offering divorces for a fixed fee.
Recognising that for those who are not eligible for legal aid, the cost of divorce can be prohibitive to some and off putting to many, Farleys have introduced fixed pricing for undefended divorces (where both parties are in agreement and wish to proceed without argument).
The only variation in price is whether you are the Petitioner or Respondent (the one starting proceedings or the one responding to them).
Antonia Love, Partner and head of the family law team says of the new pricing scheme,
“Divorce is stressful enough without worrying about the bill, and whilst not every case can be dealt with on a fixed fee basis, we continue to keep the costs down for all our clients. This is a very difficult time for many people and we do not wish to make it any harder, a fixed fee for divorce provides quality representation for all.”
If you wish to issue an undefended divorce petition you will pay a fixed fee of £650.00 + court fees and VAT. Where you have received a divorce petition and wish to deal with this on an undefended basis, a fixed fee of only £250.00 + VAT will be payable.
