The event, which has been running since 2017, was hosted at Preston Golf Club which provided a lovely setting to kick off Christmas shopping for attendees.
The popularity of this event has grown massively over the years, and this year Farleys welcomed over 90 guests to browse the tasty, boozy and fashionable stalls they had lined up. These included returning favourites, the Cheese Counter, Whalley Wine Shop, Sunday Best, Heavenly Cakes, Tropic Skincare, Raffia and DP Silver, alongside some new stalls including Hayley Elizabeth Art, Good Intent Gifts, and more.
The evening went down a treat as guests got a good head start on their Christmas shopping, before sitting down for a delicious hot pot supper.
This was followed by a raffle with dozens of prizes on offer, generously donated by stallholders and supporters.
The funds from ticket sales, raffle tickets, and a percentage of stallholder’s profits on the night will all be donated to CancerHelp Preston.
CancerHelp is a local charity that supports people in Preston and the surrounding area who have received a cancer diagnosis.
Through the generosity of donations, CancerHelp is able fund specially trained therapists and counsellors who can support those individuals and families effected by cancer, with the aim of showing people that there is a way forward and a life that they can still enjoy.
The event raised a total of £2,020.30. This amount will be match-funded by the Farleys Foundation to over £4,000.
This beats last year’s total, and Farleys hope that as the event popularity continues to grow, each year more and more can be raised.
Antonia Love, family law partner at Farleys commented,
“Our annual Christmas shopping event in aid of CancerHelp is always a hit, at which we raise thousands for a great cause. This year was no exception as we saw everyone walking out at the end of the night with a smile on their face, a Farleys bag full of shopping and a belly full of hotpot.
I would like to say a massive thank you to all those who have supported our fundraising efforts this year, from guests to stallholders, and helped to make this year’s event our best ever.”
Laura Brown, Communications Officer at CancerHelp Preston added,
“The ‘CancerHelp does Christmas’ night 2023 was another huge success and it was lovely to see people enjoying their Christmas shopping and having a chat over supper. Everyone at the charity would like to say a massive thank you to the stall holders, the shoppers and most of all to the Farleys team who made it all happen.
The funds raised will make a huge difference to so many local people and will allow our therapists to help them as they go through one of the hardest times in their lives. CancerHelp is so grateful for the continued support of Farleys Solicitors and for all the effort that goes in to making events like this so enjoyable and so successful.
