Chris is an insolvency lawyer with more than 20 years’ experience advising insolvency practitioners, directors, creditors and businesses on a wide range of corporate and personal insolvency matters. His practice has focused on helping clients navigate insolvency, restructuring and recovery issues, combining technical legal expertise with a practical and commercial approach.

Chris joined Farleys in 2026 bringing with him extensive experience gained over a long career in insolvency law, most recently as Head of Insolvency at a Lancashire firm. Earlier in his career, he founded and managed his own law firm across the Pennines, specialising in business debt recovery, insolvency litigation and advisory work for insolvency practitioners.

Throughout his career, Chris has advised insolvency practitioners across the full range of corporate and personal insolvency procedures. He has extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters, including administrations, liquidations, bankruptcies and voluntary arrangements. His work has encompassed appointment advice, investigations into company affairs, asset recovery, antecedent transaction and misfeasance claims, director conduct issues, retention of title disputes and debt recovery. He regularly supports insolvency practitioners in maximising recoveries and resolving issues arising during insolvency appointments.

Outside work, Chris enjoys supporting Blackburn Rovers and taking to the stage as an amateur dramatics enthusiast, where the reviews tend to be kinder than the football results.
