Legal Aid Funding For Inquests

In certain circumstances, Legal Aid is available to the family of the deceased to cover the costs of the inquest and associated proceedings. In the alternative, we may be able to agree a fixed fee for our advice, preparation for the inquest and legal representation during the proceedings.

In the eventuality that there is a civil claim to pursue against a liable party following the inquest, ie. if another party was found to be at fault or to have acted negligently therefore contributing to the cause of death, it may also be possible to recover a proportion of the costs of the inquest via this subsequent claim.
