The Business Crime and Special Casework Unit at Farleys Solicitors LLP has received confirmation from the Legal Services Commission (LSC) that it has been granted  Accreditation to ensure the Firm can continue to carry out Very High Cost Criminal (VHCC) cases.

The LSC announced the abolition of the VHCC Panel earlier this year, to take effect from mid – July 2010.   Farleys had been one of the select firms on the national Panel from the outset, but following its abolition would only be able to continue work on these serious and complex cases if the LSC granted this 2010 Accreditation.  It is understood the Farleys are one of the first firms in the country to achieve this.

One of the main criteria stated by the LSC to achieve 2010 VHCC Accreditation is “demonstrable experience in handling VHCC cases”.

Paul Schofield, Partner at Farleys and Head of the Business Crime and Special Casework Unit commented:

“The fact that we were approved, and so quickly, by the LSC is again testament to the significant expertise that we have in this area. Cases at this level cannot be undertaken by every solicitor or firm and I am delighted that our experience and commitment, demonstrated by a team with a fantastic track record and work ethic, have again been recognised by the LSC.  I am personally very proud of my team, the cases we continue to attract nationally, and the results we achieve”.
