North Valley Metal Co (Colne) Ltd, which is based on Brook Street in Nelson and was established in 1966 by the Turner family, has been bought in a new venture led by the company’s former management consultant John Seymour. John has worked at the business for over three years and this is the first acquisition for his newly created company NVM Holdings Ltd.
John has big plans for the £1.6 million turnover company that has strong links with China and specialises in bespoke fabrication services, the manufacture of fire doors, industrial door components and gates & railings for regeneration contracts for a number of leading local, national and international companies.
John said: “All of our products are manufactured at our sites in the UK and through growing relationships with global companies, particularly in China, the company is in very good health and it is looking likely that new jobs could soon be created for the area.”
Already a new distribution vehicle has been purchased and the 25 strong workforce at the main site and the company’s subsidiary sites on Plumb Street, Burnley are being kept busy with ongoing projects.
Debbie King, partner at Farleys Shadsworth business centre, represented John. She said: “John has a very well formulated plan for the future of the business and I have no doubt that North Valley Metals will continue to prosper under his leadership. I wish John every success for the future.”
Sean O’Malley from RBS Commercial Banking and Colin Andreassen from RBS Invoice Finance provided the funding package to complete the deal. Sean O’Malley, Relationship Manager at RBS, said: “John is an experienced businessman with considerable expertise and knowledge of the market. I am sure that he and the rest of the team at North Valley Metal will continue to be successful in the future.”
