Today it has been reported that a hotline, set up following ex-footballers speaking out about being sexually abused by coaches, has received more than 50 calls within the first two hours!

The NSPCC confirms that many victims have raised concerns about children now and in the past. Many more calls are expected.

So serious this matter that the Football Association is urgently meeting at Wembley to discuss the allegations and how best to deal with them.

The hotline, supported by the FA, was set up after former Crewe Alexandra player, Andy Woodward openly spoke about his abuse by former Coach and Youth Football Scout, Barry Bennell who has been convicted for sex offences against children.

The Professional Football Association (PFA) expects the number of calls to the hotline to rise. Sadly it would appear that our national game is not immune to societies problems.

As Solicitors specialising in Abuse Claims and Sports Law we work with many victims who seek justice. Like the hotline we are here to help and assist victims, and assure all that matters can be discussed in the strictest of confidence.
