Farleys’ specialist Arbitration Team and Sports Team were retained to act on behalf of a client who sought multi-million-pound damages for the alleged breach of a Management Contract against a sporting superstar. Former Master of the Rolls, Lord Dyson, was appointed as Arbitrator.
The Applicant alleged that the Respondent’s conduct amounted to a breach of the Management Contract and sought losses for commissions that would have been generated for the Manager, had the sportsman not breached the Management Contract.
The Arbitral Hearing was listed to be dealt with by way of separate liability and quantum hearings and a matter of days before the first hearing, the parties negotiated a seven-figure settlement.
