news-155-1-standard-200x200Farleys have today presented a cheque for £2000 to local charity Cash for Kids following their St Patrick’s Day celebration. With the help of clients and staff, £1855 was raised on the day, with the total being rounded up to £2000 with a further donation from Farleys.

The annual event, taking place for the sixth year at The Bull’s Head in Wilpshire, is held by Farleys Solicitors for commercial clients they have been working closely with throughout the previous year. Representatives from 50 of the region’s businesses were in attendance for a three course lunch and drinks as guests of the firm.

As part of the afternoon’s celebrations,  a raffle was held on the day with prizes including an X Box, Nintendo Wii, four Nintendo DS consoles and two digital photo frames, as kindly donated by clients Gem Distribution Ltd, The Bulls Head (Wilpshire) and Brand Interiors.

Three of the winners kindly gave up their prizes in order for them to be auctioned off to raise further funds for Cash for Kids. A special thank you goes to David West from David West & Associates Accountants bid £200 for the X Box, to then go on to donate the games console to Derian House Children’s Hospice, one of the centres that Cash for Kids work very closely with.

Ian Liddle, Commercial Partner at Farleys Solicitors LLP, who presented the cheque at the charity’s office in Preston today commented:

“The event was a fantastic success and I would personally like to thank the generosity of clients for their contributions and donations to help disadvantaged children in our local area.

“We have doubled the amount raised for charity this year, and I know that the £2000 from this event will go a long way in assisting Cash for Kids with the fantastic work they do throughout Lancashire”.
