Farleys Advise North Lancs Training Group on Lease of Premises

Farleys’ commercial property team have advised award-winning training provider North Lancs Training Group on the lease of their new premises in Bury.

A long standing client of Farleys, North Lancs Training Group (NLTG) works with young people to provide training, apprenticeships, study programmes, traineeships and work opportunities within local and national businesses. Established over 50 years ago in Accrington, the Group has since expanded to several centres across Lancashire and Greater Manchester with the Bury centre being their latest addition.

NLTG had chosen the former Buddy’s for Children with Autism shop and café premises in The Rock shopping centre in order to further expand their study programme and traineeship offering in Greater Manchester. However, the premises required change of use planning permission so the group could use it as a training space.

A planning permission application had been submitted but NLTG needed urgent access to the premises in order to continue their work. The group approached Farleys who drafted a License to Occupy along with an Agreement for Lease which would allow access to the premises while they waited for planning consent to be granted. This also protected them financially should the change of use not be granted.

Gareth Lindsay – Managing Director and Collette Humphreys – Operations Director commented,

We’ve worked with Farleys Solicitors for many years and we have always had an excellent working relationship. Farleys are there to assist with anything we need and we know the advice given and work carried out is always accurate and professional.

“We hadn’t worked specifically with Ashlea prior to the example above and she proved to be efficient, helpful and professional at all times. We highly recommend Farleys Solicitors.”

Ashlea Thornton, Associate at Farleys, added,

“We were pleased to be able to assist North Lancs Training Group with the lease of their new Bury premises. A tight turnaround can be challenging but be we were glad to be able to successfully help the group get into their new home within the necessary time-frame. This will enable them to continue to provide the training and opportunities to young people across the region which is great news.”
