How can you make a complaint?
If you believe we have not complied with data protection legislation in connection with your personal data you can complain to us by emailing our Professional Standards Team at [email protected].
How will we deal with your data protection complaint?
Following receipt of your complaint we will deal with it in accordance with the process required by data protection law as follows:
- We will acknowledge receipt of the complaint within 30 days of receiving it. If we receive the complaint electronically, for example via email, then we may use an auto-response to acknowledge receipt.
- If we need more information (for example to understand what the complaint is about, to verify your identity or to verify that you have authority to make the complaint on behalf of the third party about whom it relates) we will ask for this as soon as we can. We will only ask for additional information where this is reasonable and proportionate.
- If your complaint doesn’t relate solely to data protection matters then we will make you aware of how the other aspects of your complaint will be dealt with.
- We will, without undue delay, take appropriate steps to respond to your complaint, including making an appropriate level of enquiries into the subject matter of your complaint to gather information about it.
- We will, without undue delay, keep you informed and updated on the progress of our investigation. We will usually correspond with you via email, where possible, and ask you to use the above email address for correspondence as required.
- We will, without undue delay, inform you of the outcome of your complaint once we have finished our investigation.
- We will keep a record of your complaint and any actions we took as a result of it.
