Our newest recruit Charlotte Mills, a corporate solicitor who recently joined our Manchester office, shares her thoughts on joining the firm, and how our Manchester office provides the best of both worlds for clients.

Before I qualified as a solicitor I’d always liked the idea of working in a city centre – the hustle and bustle (the restaurants and shops!). But I couldn’t quite get comfortable with the prospect of working for a huge city law firm. I didn’t want to work for an organisation that was clinical, costly and impersonal.

As a solicitor who advises businesses, I like to do my job properly, and for me, that means spending time getting to know each client and their business so that I can give them the best advice. I never felt I would be given the time needed to build that kind of rapport in a big city law firm, which is one of the reasons why I worked at a regional office of a legal firm until recently.

I’ve now joined Farleys Solicitors’ Manchester office. Yes, it’s based right in the heart of the city but that doesn’t affect the firm’s approach to its clients. Having a regional presence undoubtedly gives the firm a down to earth feel; but without compromising on standards or expertise. The staff are professional but friendly and really seem to spend the time getting to know each client and what they need.  The firm also has the benefit of regional fee levels but with a city centre presence.

It seems I’ve moved to a firm that truly values the relationships it has with its clients and strives to offer first class legal services at the right price. It also gives me access to the hubbub of the city centre. For me, it’s the perfect choice.
