A nurse who suffered life changing injuries after being hit by a vehicle outside work is now able to cover the costs of her rehabilitation and loss of earnings after receiving £300,000 in compensation.
Farleys’ Personal Injury Solicitors were instructed to represent the client after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing a road outside her place of work at Burnley General Hospital.
The woman, who worked full time as a nurse, suffered significant physical injuries to the head, arm, knee and shoulder as well as psychiatric injuries. She needed surgery on her shoulder to add pins and plates as well as surgery on her left knee as a result of the injuries.
Our personal injury solicitors supported the client through her treatment and arranged for neuro reports, intensive physio, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Our solicitors also arranged care and occupational therapy reports.
She could no longer work full time as a nurse as a result of her injuries so had to change to part time working which resulted in a loss of earnings.
Partner and head of Farleys’ Personal Injury department, Nick Molyneux represented the client and commented:
“This case demonstrates the life-changing injuries that can be sustained through a road traffic accident and the devastating consequences they can have on the victims. Before the incident, my client enjoyed her job as a full-time nurse, helping those in need.
Now, however, she has been forced to reduce her working hours in order to spend time rehabilitating from her injuries. While nothing can change things back to the way things used to be for my client, I am pleased to have been able to secure the pay-out which will mean my client will not struggle to pay for her treatment and hopefully, at some point in the future, will be able to put this terrible ordeal behind her.”
