The Head of Family Law at Farleys has been named Partner of the Year at a prestigious National awards ceremony. Antonia Love, who heads the department across our Blackburn, Burnley, Accrington and Manchester offices, was presented with the accolade at this year’s Family Law Awards. In receiving the title, Antonia was the only winner amongst all of the 15 award categories from the North of England.
Judged by leading figures from the field of family law, including the Family Law Bar Association, Resolution and the Association of Lawyers for Children, the awards, now in their second year, celebrate and commend the important work of law firms, individuals and barristers in the area of family law in England and Wales. The awards were presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Park Lane in London and were attended by over 350 professionals from the practice of family law.
Speaking after the awards, Antonia said:
“I was thrilled to also be shortlisted as Family Law Partner of the Year 2012 and truly overwhelmed to have won this award.
“I am privileged to lead a department of 33 people who are committed to achieving excellent results for all their clients – for this to be recognised at a National level is very gratifying. I could not have won this award without the hard work and dedication my team consistently deliver.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the clients and professionals who nominated me for this award, along with the many people who have sent messages of support and congratulations.
“It is an honour to bring this trophy to the North West.”
The judges commented on the number of nominations Antonia had received– being ‘the most by far’ of all those shortlisted for the award. They further commented that it was clear Antonia ‘goes the extra mile’ for her clients.
Antonia, who joined Farleys in 1996 as a trainee solicitor, became Partner and Head of the Family Department in 2003. Specialising in divorce involving high net worth individuals and private and public law work regarding children, Antonia has represented clients in a number of high profile cases over the past twelve months. One such case, which was reported in the National press, was a landmark judgement involving the treatment of two statutory orphans under the care of Lancashire Country Council.
