Charlotte primarily advises employers on how to become sponsors in order to employ individuals from outside the UK/EEA and how to comply with sponsor obligations. She also advises employers on how to carry out right to work checks and ensure compliance with the latest guidance. She advises individuals on Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 4 and Tier 5 visas as well as dependant visas, switching and extending visas, and applications for indefinite leave to remain. Charlotte regularly advise international students from local universities about their options to remain in the UK in advance of the expiry of their Tier 4 visa.
Charlotte also advises employers on a range of employment issues including disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancy, maternity, paternity and other family friendly rights, discrimination, TUPE, flexible working and long term sickness issues. She provides clients with a range of training including general employment law overviews, equal opportunities training, the bribery act and data protection. She assists clients in defending a full range of Employment Tribunal claims and have experience in advocacy at Employment Tribunal hearings and preliminary hearings. She also advises individuals in relation to disputes at work and settlement agreements.
