A 66 year old former head teacher who sexually abused pupils at Woolston Church of England Primary School has been jailed for 6 years.

Kenneth Savage abused young children whilst teaching at the school in the 1970s. The former head teacher pleaded guilty to 30 accounts of sexual abuse. The court heard that Savage preyed on a number of vulnerable young boys aged 9 to 11 years old, with some instances of abuse occurring at the child’s home.

Detective Constable Jackie Daniels of Cheshire Police said:

“Savage preyed on his young victims when they were in his duty of care. He was in a position of trust which he abused for his own advantage and has affected the victims for the rest of their lives”

It has emerged that the former head teacher’s victims are seeking damages for the abuse endured.
