Mr C approached Farleys’ personal injury team about the possibility of making a claim for compensation after he was involved in a hit and run cycling crash.

Background

Mr C was out cycling in Oldham. While in the process of making a right turn, the defendant vehicle failed to give way and collided with Mr C’s bike at the rear, knocking him off his bike.

The defendant drove off without stopping; however, witnesses were able to get the vehicle details for Mr C who suffered neck pain, knee pain, and travel anxiety as a result of the crash.

How Farleys were able to help

Mr C instructed Holly Barnes of Farleys’ personal injury team to act on his behalf against the driver of the vehicle.

The defendant admitted liability for the crash within three weeks. While the claim was progressing, Holly secured an interim payment to cover the cost of physiotherapy for Mr C’s injuries.

Overall, Holly successfully settled the compensation claim for Mr C who received in excess of £8,000 to cover the cost of pain, loss, and suffering caused by the crash as well as his psychological injuries. The damages also covered the cost of a replacement bike for Mr C.

Holly Barnes commented,

We were pleased to have been able to secure this settlement for Mr C after his crash and hope the funds will assist with the treatment for his injuries so he can get back to cycling again. I’m sure Mr C would like to thank the witnesses who came to his assistance and ensured he was able to get justice and closure on his experience.
