September 2010

Farleys acted on behalf of Mr David Wiper, a motorcyclist injured whilst working as a motorcycle patrol recovery driver. Mr Wiper was knocked off his bike by a negligent car driver who collided with the rear of Mr Wiper's bike. Mr Wiper suffered injuries to his neck, back and ankle, and Farleys recovered damages of over £20,000 for losses including his injuries, damaged clothing, medical treatment and loss of earnings.

At the conclusion of his case Mr Wiper stated he was extremely pleased with the service and advice received from Farleys and in particular from Nick Molyneux and his team.

July 2010

Client P was a gentleman aged 55.  He was riding his motorcycle when a third party vehicle pulled out of a pub car park into his path causing a collision.  Extensive work was carried out in establishing liability against the third party and thereafter numerous medical reports and reports from other specialism were required in relation to the serious injuries sustained by the client in this accident.  The injury was particularly serious to the brachial plexus causing the client to suffer a flail arm.  Following the issue of proceedings and protracted negotiations and meetings with the Defendants an eventual settlement sum in the region of £2,000,000.00 was secured for the client.

June 2010

A settlement of £7,250.00 was achieved for a client who slipped and fell on a puddle caused by a melted ice lolly in a supermarket.  The client had badly injured her knee as a result of the slip and had to undergo extensive tests on the knee injury.

May 2010

Farleys acted on behalf of a fork lift truck driver who suffered a strain to his neck and shoulder after a tray of plastic bottles fell from a palette on to him during the course of his work. Arguments were entered into with the Defendant's Insurers in relation to liability.  The Claimant underwent scans and physiotherapy treatment.  An award of £7,500.00 was secured on his behalf.


Farleys acted for an elderly lady who was injured by a car, which reversed into her as she crossed the road. She sustained multiple abrasions and soft tissue injuries affecting her arm, leg and knees necessitating hospital treatment.  The injuries were unusual in that a report from a general surgeon was also required as a result of possible exacerbation of a varicose vein problem. The Claimant also sustained a psychiatric injury and was left nervous whilst a pedestrian. An award of £9,000.00 was obtained for the Claimant.

Damages of £3,500 recovered for an employee who cut his leg on an industrial sized sheet of glass which had not been properly made safe by fellow employees, leaving the client with permanent scarring.
April 2010

Farleys Solicitors recovered damages of over £25,000 for a self employed electrician injured in a road traffic accident.  Damages included a substantial payment for loss of earnings from his new business which had suffered badly during the client's absence.

February 2010

Damages of £3,000.00 were awarded to a Claimant who sustained a minor back strain whilst shopping as a result of a defective foot plate on her wheelchair provided by a well known supermarket chain.

January 2010

Farleys settled a claim for the sum of £5,000.00 on behalf of a claimant who sustained a back injury whilst in the process of using an industrial cleaner which fell off its wheeled trolley.

Damages of £18,000 were awarded to a client after they developed a rash and suffered mild burns following the application of a first aid 'warm plaster'.

Farleys acted for a member of the emergency services who had fallen from their motorbike in the course of their duties. Suffering a back injury and emotional trauma, Farleys settled their claim for £187,500.

December 2009

Farleys secure £4,378.50 damages award for Claimant who sustained a colle's fracture to left wrist following a tripping accident.

Client awarded £16,500.00 compensation who sustained a finger injury at work whilst attempting to move a heavy fixture from a pump truck on to a wooden crate.

Farleys secured £14,500 in compensation for a client after a road traffic accident involving a fire engine left them with an injured shoulder.

November 2009

A client of Farleys reached to the top shelf in a well known supermarket to obtain dishwasher fluid, as she did the bottle fell and splashed onto client's face.  Sustaining a burn to the cornea of her left eye, Farleys secured £2,000 in damages.

Damages of £3,700.00 secured for claimant who suffered whiplash injuries following a road traffic accident.

Farleys secured damages of £2,800 for client who was knocked off his pedal bicycle following a road traffic accident.  The claimant sustained minor soft tissue damage to his neck and shoulders.

October 2009

Client was standing on a cradle removing sheets from the roof of the barn as part of their work duties when the floor of the cradle gave way and the client sustained a severe laceration to his right hand.  Farleys secured £4,300 in damages.

Farleys acted on behalf of a motorcyclist injured in a road traffic accident and were successful in recovering damages in excess of £400,000 including compensation for the injuries as well as past and future loss of earnings, care and assistance, treatment and aids and equipment to enable the injured party to adapt his home as a result of his disability.

Damages of £300,000 were recovered by Farleys for a driver of a car who suffered serious injuries in an accident caused by a drunk driver.  The award included compensation for the injury, loss of earnings and future surgery on a private basis.

September 2009

Damages of £2,700 awarded to claimant following a road traffic accident.  The claimant sustained minor soft tissue injury to his upper body/left hand and right ankle.

Client tripped on a flagstone causing her to sustain a cracked rib and contusions to the left knee, Farleys secured her £3,500 in compensation.

Farleys secured damages of £29,000 for a client, an innocent bystander to a pub fight, who was assaulted.

Visiting a hotel in Burnley a lady injured her lower back and knees as she descended stairs to the spa area.  Farleys ensured she received £20,000.00 in damages.

Farleys secured damages of over £7,000 for a client injured following a fall in Blackburn town centre caused by upraised paying flags.

The claimant was a mechanic and as part of his employment he was asked to replace a ball joint on a wheel and was instructed to use the oxygen and settling gas torch instead of the disk cutter.  Whilst undertaking this task the ball joint exploded caused injury to his left hand, £5,440 was awarded in compensation.

Farleys secured £6,000 for a client who sustained a crushing injury to his left index finger whilst lifting a manhole cover at work.
