Client was standing on a cradle removing sheets from the roof of the barn as part of their work duties when the floor of the cradle gave way and the client sustained a severe laceration to his right hand. Farleys secured £4,300 in damages.

The claimant was a mechanic and as part of his employment he was asked to replace a ball joint on a wheel and was instructed to use the oxygen and settling gas torch instead of the disk cutter.
