  • Acted for the claimant company in an action for damages against a former director for losses sustained as a result of breaches of fiduciary duties. The claim was settled for a substantial sum including costs at formal mediation.
  • Farleys acted for the Defendant in successfully striking out a claim brought in the High Court of Justice. The claim was for damages of £200,000 for an alleged conversion of company shares. The case was struck out with the Claimant being ordered to pay the Defendant's costs
  • Farleys successfully acted for the Claimant in a multi-track claim heard at Worcester County Court. The Claimant was further successful in having the counterclaim dismissed and being awarded a costs order against a non-party to proceedings.
  • Represented Respondent to an application for adverse possession before the Lands Tribunal. The application was heard at a 5 day hearing

  • High Court application at Manchester Civil Justice Centre for the restoration of a company to the Register under the Companies Act.

  • Represented the Claimant in an action for commercial fraud for losses sustained as a result of false accounting.

  • Acted for the Claimant in an action brought in conversion. The Claimant was eventually successful at a trial at Preston County Court.

  • Represented the Defendant in a claim brought under the Consumer Credit Act for a sum exceeding £675,000.

  • Represented the Respondent to an application for a freezing injunction by a large international vehicle manufacturer in proceedings in the Royal Courts of Justice, based upon allegations of fraud.

  • Represented the applicant, an association in the entertainment industry, for Judicial Review, in the Royal Courts of Justice, London.

  • Successfully pursued a claim for breach of contract on behalf of the Claimant in the Mercantile Court pleaded in excess of £130,000 while defending a counterclaim in excess of £200,000.

  • Represented the Applicant to an application to vary a Restraint Order over assets of a third party. The assets had been restrained pursuant to the Proceeds of Crime Act due to allegations of serious fraud.

  • Represented the Claimant in an action for injunctive relief in the Manchester High Court. The Claimant successfully restrained a competitor from distributing a publication which was in breach of the tort of 'passing off'.
